Plancenoit Latest

Progress on Plancenoit village continues with two main changes: the Duvalier Farm is nearly complete and the Church, after an abortive attempt to model it on another church somewhere in the area, now reflects what we believe it looked like before it was rebuilt in the mid 19th Century.

The next step is to model the graveyard, hedge and cemetery wall.

The church has a red tiled roof according to Siborne, so we will change this.

  1. Fantastic! Well-executed model buildings like these are integral to the toy soldier hobby in my view.

    Best Regards,

  2. I second Stokes. This is an excellent model.
I think you've definitely chosen the right path with this one, GP. The Siborne model seems to be the only known early depiction. He's even drawn it that way on his famous maps.

He makes me wonder about the chateau at Hougoumont too. He seems to be the only one to show it with double pitched rooves!

  3. Lovely models, Pic - shaping up beautifully. But never mind that - what's in the glass jars? Field rations...?
